The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

Whether you've got carpet that is high or low-pile there's a robotic vacuum for you. These intelligent appliances can navigate through your home, pick up debris and even clean under furniture.

They are equipped with advanced features, like mapping, which help them navigate through your home and keep track of where furniture is located. They can also boost the suction power to tackle dirtier surfaces.

iRobot Roomba 694"

The Roomba 694 by iRobot is an entry-level robot vacuum that is able to work on bare floors and low-pile carpet. It has a decent suction and can clean most debris, however it has trouble with larger particles such as rice or sand. It also does a good job of removing pet hair however it isn't resistant to tangling like the premium Roomba models like the j7 or I6.

The Roomba is simple to use. It features three buttons on the top cover. 'Clean,' which initiates a cleaning session and 'Dock', which places it in its charging station, and the 'Spot' button, which triggers a targeted cleaning. It can be controlled with an app for smartphones that lets you schedule and stop/start cycles, as well as adjust settings. It can also be paired with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum cleaner is slower than other models, but it can get into the most crevices and corners. It comes with a large bin that makes it easy to empty. It is compatible with virtual barriers and digital mapping, which allow you to restrict it to certain areas or even stop cleaning completely when you want to stop it from getting stuck on something.

Although it's not the most efficient model in its price range but it's far superior to other options. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694, with superior cleaning performance on both bare and low-pile carpets. It also follows a more efficient cleaning path and has longer battery life. It is also more comfortable to use and has fewer components that need regular maintenance, costs less to maintain over its life, and charges faster than the 694.

It is also worth considering other models from the iRobot range, like the v7 or 981. The 981 and v7 are more expensive but offer significant improvement in cleaning efficiency, both on bare and low pile floors. They also have a larger dirt compartment they charge faster, can move more easily and are easier to pair up with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robot that is budget-friendly does a good job on hard floors and carpets with a low pile. The combo brush can reach into edges and corners, and it automatically increases suction when it detects carpet. It also does a good job of cleaning dirt off carpets in the middle of the pile. The IQ has a small footprint and has a self-emptying feature. However, if you want to alter the floor level on the map, or set no-go zones, you'll need to manually reset it to do this, which is a bit of a hassle.

The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation capabilities but it's missing no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing system of the app allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile feature of its carpet cleaning mode is efficient but it could get caught on the tassels of the rug.

During our tests, we found that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to get rid of a large amount of debris on floors that were not bare, and a fair amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less efficient with shag carpets. It was unable to reach dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was able to navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice that it was a little slower on floors with no flooring but it quickly recovered and performed better than the other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better option over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery life and is better in navigating around obstacles. It has mopping tools that can remove sticky debris. The iRobot, however, feels more sturdy, has fewer components that require maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer recurring costs, can create virtual no go zones using its companion application. It can continue cleaning where it left off even if the battery runs out before it finishes. The iRobot can also be controlled using voice, which is a huge plus for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't one of the most advanced models, but it provides excellent cleaning power for an affordable price. It's designed for budget-conscious buyers who don't require a complicated mapping system or app to control the device. This robot will last for over an hour. It includes a remote control, cleaning tool, and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim and sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that resembles brushed aluminum. It's a refreshing departure from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

In our tests, the eufy 11S was excellent at picking up large particles and fine dust on hard flooring. It struggled to deep clean high-pile and medium-pile carpets. The device is also prone to hit furniture and people in its path however, it is able to detect these obstacles using sensors. If it encounters them it stops and lets out a loud beep so you can manually guide it around the obstacle and get back to work.

Another excellent feature of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match floor type and the amount of mess. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S where you want it to move.

If you don't have many furniture in the space where you'd like to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy can spend 30 minutes cleaning the area that it's assigned.

Edge Cleaning is another option that reduces the time spent on each surface to just 20 minutes. This will increase the battery's life. If you select this option, the eufy will move in a spiral pattern to clean edges and corners to ensure a clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robotic vacuum that can be a great performer on carpet. Its performance is also excellent on floors with no floor. It can pick up small particles such as rice effortlessly and it doesn't suffer from suction efficiency even as its dirt bin gets full. Its design that is allergy-friendly and sealed with air will trap allergens to keep your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin, so you don't need additional filters or vacuum bags.

It's not as powerful as pricier models, but it's great for tackling dirt and deep cleaning. It has two cameras on the front that provide a live feed to your smartphone. It also comes with one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It also has a big dustbin, a long running time, and a fast, bump-free clean-up.

In contrast to other robots, unlike most other robots, Complete C1 can switch between two powerheads, a standard one and a turbo head for different types of floors. The turbo head is ideal for carpeting with high-pile or low-pile, while the standard powerhead is great on floors that are unfinished and light rugs. It also features an automatic height adjustment system that enables it to adapt to different types flooring without manual adjustments.

This model is included with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on both carpets with a hard surface and carpets with a medium pile. The powerhead can also be easily moved and get into difficult areas. It comes with five different adjustments to the surface and a brushroll-off switch to prevent tangled hairs.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll, an UtraClean mode that cycles around the same area three times to ensure the best cleaning possible and a self-emptying bin that can be empty at the press of one button. Its noise level is slightly higher than that of other models however its powerful 1,200-watt motor and solid construction make it well worth the extra cost.

If you're willing to spend a little more it's worth it. Miele Complete C3 is an excellent all-around canister robot vacuum that performs better on carpet than the Classic C1. It performs better on all types of floors, is more cleaning robots solidly constructed and comes with an HEPA filter.
